“The state Board of Elections is holding off on seeking a clarification from former state Rep. Frank Mautino on his payments to Spring Valley City Bank.
It is awaiting the outcome of a separate complaint involving the Spring Valley Democrat’s campaign spending.
The clarification ‘is not something we’re pushing,’ Tom Newman, the board’s campaign disclosure director, said last week. ‘Depending on how things end up with the complaint, we’ll go back to (Mautino). One way or another, we’ll get a clarification.'”
