“The television advertisement attacking state Sen. Sam McCann is brutal. It describes the Plainview Republican as a “favorite” of Democratic House Speaker Michael Madigan and chastises McCann for past financial woes that caused tax problems.
“Raising our taxes while ducking his own,” the advertisement charges.
That’s an example of internal GOP hardball being played against McCann, who last fall outraged many fellow party members by voting to override Rauner’s veto of a pro-union bill.”
