RFI ED on potential for super PAC reform
With the huge amount of money in the recent Illinois primaries, there is a question of whether anything can be done to mitigate the influence of super PACs.
In an interview with Crain’s Greg Hinz, RFI Executive Director Alisa Kaplan shared that one potential reform would require earlier, more extensive disclosure of super PAC donors. Another would clarify what constitutes coordination between super PACs and the candidates they support, and a current bill sponsored by state Rep. Kelly Cassidy aims to do just that.
