Unprecedented money in Illinois primaries
The Chicago Tribune reported that nearly $62 million was spent in the four most competitive Democratic congressional primaries in Illinois this year. RFI Executive Director Alisa Kaplan said the massive amount of money “sidelined so many issues that are important.”
“Instead of talking about those things, they’re slinging mud at each other about where their money is coming from,” she said.
